The first big acquisition of 2014 happened today when Facebook acquired Little Eye Labs, a Company which is involved in building performance analysis and monitoring tools for mobile applications. This is first acquisition of Indian company by facebook and is confirmed on the website of Little Eye Labs and they also released the statement of this acquisition.
This is Facebook’s first acquisition of an Indian company which convey clear message of facebook’s upcoming plans. According to Wikipedia facebook acquired 42 companies (Including Little Eye Labs) from all around the world till date. Acquisition of Little Eye Labs clearly shows Facebook’s vision focus on mobile application market in 2014. Facebook or Little Eye Labs didn’t reveal the acquisition amount on their statement yet and may publish more information soon.
Little Eye Labs team will move to Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California and from there they will build awesome performance application tool for Facebook and will improve mobile world market for 2014. Facebook also owns world’s biggest photo sharing mobile application named Instagram, so the company is really looking forward to give tough competition to other mobile applications.
It is tough question that whether this acquisition will affect IT industry of India or not? but it will definitely improve the competition in mobile app analytics business.
